Bye Bye Winter

A little watercolor picture based on a photo I have taken just a week ago, and now most of snow has melted and everything outside says “spring”.

New Olympic book

I have finished painting a week ago, and it’s already published as an e-book! Brand new Snowman Paul story. Snowman is getting ready for Winter Olympics again. No doubt winter sports are of great interest to snowmen.

Winter In Love

Winter In LoveAnd here’s the color version of this romantic illustration for Jan. There’s a lot of salt in this watercolor! Some glow effects were added or enhanced in Photoshop, too, so this is not fully traditional drawing.

Winter In Love

Today a sketch for short story about Winter and Spring; they love each other, but they can never  meet. She melts, when he comes close. The author lives in far hot Australia, I guess that’s why she has so much sympathy for winter. Let’s see what will come out of this. For Rainbow Babies there’s cover to do yet, but we are not too advanced. At the moment nobody knows, what exactly babies should do on the front cover of the book. There are some ideas, but nothing is sure.

Winter and Spring

Basia is happy

First sunny day from… I’m not sure, a week or longer. Both mares went out to have their  breakfast and they were very happy. I meant to take picture of Basia having her morning hay – she was just shining with happiness – but I was late and there was no hay left, when I went there again with camera. Now Basia looks as if she’s eating snow. In reality she was looking for last blades, Basia is very serious about her food.

Winter Train

Illustration to another children poem by the same author, Jadwiga Nazimek. This one is for elder children and it’s a bit more complicated. It’s about going away on train one winter, through the snowy forest, and when you look closely you will see the forest is full of magical creatures, shining eyes and talking mushrooms. In short, a jungle in snow. A few inks on gray paper (black, blue, white) and crayons. I will add some digital edition to make lamps more glowing, I guess. At the moment this is still traditional drawing.

Winter Train

The Fox And the Raven

Traditional watercolor drawing on traditional watercolor paper, no experiments this time… Our Jura Upland looks very similar at the moment, snow is 1 centimeter deep and dirt shows through. But it’s freezing cold.

Snow Queen

Quite adequate to what I see around; ice, ice, ice. Ink and watercolor, more ink this time.
