This is a kind of Easter eggs manufacture. The drawing is for Nicky, who has sent us a big set of chocolate bunnies. Some are already eaten.

Let’s Think of Spring
Ella’s project stopped for a while, the author is planning additional pages and I am to wait till she makes her mind. Other things are to be started after Easter holiday, now there’s a dead season. So… the choice is either to do more cleaning, or to draw something else (guess which I prefer!) We have beautiful winter this spring, but l’ve found an old photo.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Defence Against the Dark Arts Lesson
Harry Potter goes back to school in my audiobook and who is Harry’s new teacher of Defence Against the Dark Arts? His worst enemy, Snape. On very first lesson there was a kind of duel between these two. Information for Potter non-readers; Harry survived. And now it’s time to take care of a little girl named Ella; the new book project begins. But Ella is not to be shown until the whole thing is finished and I will get the consent, so now there will be less drawings.

Bellatrix in color
Bellatrix and her sister at Snape’s place. I’m still thinking of making a proper full-color picture of this sketch; I like to draw night scenes! For now I have made a simple ink drawing. Four colors of ink are used here; raw umber, black, white and red (except of the first one, it’s kind of stuff used in offices, for stamping), two brushes, one sheet of gray paper and nothing more. This time I have limited myself. Inks used with a brush instead of a pen are not much different from watercolor paints, as Narcissa’s dress indicates.

Bellatrix, Narcissa and Snape
I have started to draw next illustration to my Harry Potter audiobook; Bellatrix and her sister Narcissa are coming to visit Snape, who is a double agent now (or maybe triple or quadruple, we shall see). This time I tried to do it right way and I have sketched characters first. The right way is longer, so I don’t know if I will finish today. And next week perhaps there will be a new story to illustrate (hurray!) so who knows when this piece will be ready. Maybe it will not wait to next Sunday, anyway; it doesn’t seem that our horses will walk a lot now. The spring went away and left us with a glass world. Last week was warm, half of the snow had melted, and now there’s frost again and thin layer of water changed in a thin layer of ice. Glass trees look very interesting indeed! But our poor animals could hardly make it to the paddock, ground is too slippy.

Basketweaver
So what happened next in “König Drosselbart” ? “Wife, we cannot go on any longer eating and drinking here and earning nothing!” The princess tried to learn to do something useful, but she was a poor basketweaver. I don’t blame her. Someone tried to teach me once and results were no good.
