The Book Found In The Attic

Crayons on Mi-Teintes paper. There’s a layer of sepia ink, too, to get the shadows darker. I know some people can do great shadows just with pencils, but I have no idea how they do it. The book is probably Grimm’s brothers fairytales, because the illustration floating above seems to be related to Sleeping Beauty story. The first idea was like that: the attic should be full of characters from the book, visible for the girl only (when her mother will come to see what she’s been doing so long up there, she will see just a girl and a book, of course). But I decided I need bigger format for this idea and more time, so this time just one fairytale scene shows up.
