Fourth part of my yellow paper and Wonderland again. `How am I to get in?’ asked Alice again, in a louder tone. `ARE you to get in at all?’ said the Footman. `That’s the first question, you know’…. Very much how I was trying to fix things at our local regional planning office. They made a mistake about property rights to a little piece of ground, a 986 square meters field we have bought many years ago together with our wooden hut. (In this time it was more a hut then house, as modern people understand the term. Houses have toilets and heating systems, you know). The field is about 1 km from the house and it slowly changes into a young forest on the basis of its own decision, as nobody grows potatoes there any more. It caused no trouble to us until the day when the son of the previous owner told us that commune forest departament wanted him to plant trees there. ‘If I have to plant trees, can’t I plant them on my own ground, not yours?’ Good question. I went to forest department and they said they got owner’s name from regional planning office. I went to regional planning office and informed them they had wrong record; probably there was some computer system crash and recent records were replaced with old ones. No, they can’t change a record on the basis of 15 years old purchase agreement, it must be done in 3 months after purchase date. But there was no selling and buying operation in last 3 months. Nor years. ‘And is there really important reason to change it?’ said finally the charming young girl working at the office. I must admit I gave up, and this problem still waits for a solution. Maybe one day we will sell this field to the neighbour and then buy it back, to have a recent date. Does anyone have a better idea?
